Club Deportivo Mintonette Almería
Over the last few years, the Patronato Municipal de Deportes of lmería City Council has been developing a “Model” of Municipal Sports Schools in collaboration with different entities with the specific aim of optimizing human and economic resources to promote and develop sport, preferably in the educational centres of our region, as well as in the sports pavilions in those activities that have their own exclusive peculiarities. This “Model”, which develops school sport within an educational context, has reached very high levels of participation and acceptance that would be difficult to achieve without the daily work of all those involved in this sports educational project.
Among those entities that collaborate with the “Model” is the Mintonette Almeria Sports Club (CDMA). A non-profit club that has been a referent in the province of Almería during the last years in the sport sector and more specifically in volleyball.
The schools have two distinct branches that aim to meet the physical activity and volleyball demands of our city’s young schoolchildren:
- Training Sports Schools (from 5 to 20 years old).
- Technical Sports Schools (from 8 to 20 years old).
In a collaborative approach with the Patronato Municipal de Deportes of the City Council of Almería and with the sponsorship of the financial institution from CAJAMAR and MICHELIN, this model of volleyball sports schools is being developed in the different Educational Centres; unique at the moment in our region.
The main goal of the model is to offer Almeria’s schoolchildren a quality physical-sports education in connection with the main values that guide the education of school-age children.
